SUNSTRUCK was started in New York City on the heals of the food truck revolution. We took a 21’ long bread truck and turned it into a fully operation sunglasses store on wheels. Purchased from a recently retired pet supply distributor named Salvatore, our truck is affectionately named "Silver Sal".
"Silver Sal" was delivered to the steps of Brooklyn's most respected production house, Square Design. Based on the design of famed retail designer Blake Dain, the crew at Square Design created one of the most unique retail spaces around.
The entire interior of Sunstruck is completely built from scratch. From the custom molded nose pieces to the back lit display window boxes. From the moment you step inside the truck you are surrounded by sunglasses from every angle and a space fully back-lit in the company's logo colors, yellow, orange and red. It is almost as if you have stepped into a beautiful sunrise surrounded by one of the most unique retail spaces around. The truck is finished with a custom stain, led lights and real wood flooring.
The truck was also designed to operate as Eco-friendly as possible. During operation, the truck can run on a series of four batteries that re-charge while being driven or plugged in overnight. The batteries can produce enough electricity to keep the truck's energy efficient lighting and it's booming stereo going all day!
Along our travels we have met some amazing people and found some amazing sunglasses brands that are fun, affordable and always offer maximum protection for your eyes. We are now very excited to be offering those styles not only in our truck but online, delivered to you no matter where you are.
Sunstruck always garner plenty of attention from event goers and press. As the first sunglasses truck on wheels we havebeen featured in Timeout, the NY Daily New, NY Times in addition to several popular fashion blogs. We are now excited to become part of the community here in our new home in South Florida!
